Hands & Feet Donation
For quite a few years now the Mowbray and Rondebosch GFC’s have donated money to buy ethical food for the Community Dinners which are held at St Peters Mowbray every Thursday. They are now at the point where they collect R3000-R4000 per month for this incredible outreach.
As Good Food Clubs, we have always had many convictions (supporting local food producers, making good food easily accessible etc.) and we are at a place where we feel moved to do something similar to our founding Clubs and what better way than support something a member of our group is directly involved in.
Tessa Gardener (a member of our club), Leanne Porter (South Peninsula GFC owner) and a few other awesome people run the NPO, Hands and Feet, and this is the community the Meadowridge Good Food Club has chosen to support.
Hands & Feet
Restoring communities by nurturing children and empowering families to stay together and thrive.
We fulfil our purpose by using a trauma-informed and inter-disciplinary approach of Education, Social Work and Occupational Therapy. We do Promotion of Healthy Family Life, Family Strengthening, Preservation and Reunification work, building relationships in the community and walking the road together.
We’ve been pioneering a new model for Family Preservation services for the last 4 years. Join us in implementing this approach and sharing it with some of the most vulnerable and desperate communities in South Africa.
