Method: Fill the 300gm glass jar supplied with the kefir granules with whole unpasteurized (raw) milk only and leave to ferment out the fridge for 24 hours. Once fermented, sieve the milk in a plastic sieve and return the granules to the bottle. Step and repeat process as often as you like.
Wash out the bottle/granules every 2-3 days with bottled/purified water. Kefir doesn’t like tap water or soap or pasteurized milk.
Once drained, the yogurt is like drinking yogurt and contains pure probiotics. It is slightly fizzy and tastes a bit “yeasty”. This is normal. The best is to add it to your morning smoothie or granola bowl.
In the fermentation process the lid of the bottle needs to opened a few times to release the gas build up. Give it a little shake after releasing the gas.
I have it on good authority that as long as you keep the granules refrigerated they won’t go off.
