Richard has been roasting coffee for over a decade. A true perfectionist, he keeps developing his techniques and insights to get the best out of each bean. He roasts in small batches to order, as coffee is just so much better when it is ultra fresh. For GFC, he has selected a stunning organic, rain forest alliance certified Uganda Bugisu from Mount Elgon

Not your typical fruity African coffee, this washed Arabica from Uganda’s most prized coffee growing region has a full body, a balanced acidity, and rich chocolate, nut and caramel flavours. Your coffee comes in printed glass jars and compostable refill bags. The ink, paper and cellophane bags are all of 100% vegetable origin and are fully biodegradable.’

To keep the coffee fresh, we recommend that it is stored in a sealed jar, in a dark cool place (not the fridge). We offer collectable glass jars for this purpose, beautifully designed by local illustrator Toby Newsome – at cost: R15 for the 350g jar / R20 for the 800g jar. Alternatively, the coffee comes in a compostable bag at no additional cost.
